7 10 hours ago Full Job Description Summary or Purpose Implement, maintain, report and document the component functions of the Human Resources Division.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification.

Conduct permanent hire orientation.
Assist employees with questions regarding Family and Medical Leave, prepare and process FMLA paperwork.
Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files.
Serve as the technical expert in employee benefits.
Ensures compliance with benefit plan requirements.
Assist Human Resources Manager with benefit questions and issues.
Responsible for reporting new hires, terminations and changes in the Public Employees Retirement program to the payroll division on a bi-weekly basis.
Responsible for bi-weekly reporting of enrollments and contribution changes for NSB sponsored retirement programs to the payroll division.
May specialize in one or two functional areas of Human Resources such as compensation, safe workplace, benefits, recruiting and training.
Review all applications for accuracy, failure and archiving.
Work with hiring managers to ensure hiring and salary placement guidelines are followed.
Assist with administering and managing NEOGOV online hiring system.
Assist applicants (general public) with NSB jobs.
Assist all department managers and hiring supervisors with Posting, Closing, SME review, and electronic hiring process within NEOGOV.
Responsible for maintaining Personnel Requisition files.
Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes.
Must be able to perform the functions of the Human Resources Specialist I and II in their absence.
Perform routine clerical duties such as typing, filing and record keeping.
Cross train with other employees in the division and provide coverage as needed.
Manage projects as assigned.
Village travel as required.
On as needed basis.
Function as Personnel Board Secretary.
Function as the Compensation Review Committee Secretary.
Administer drug and alcohol tests utilizing federal drug and alcohol testing procedures.
Review, process, and approve Employee Performance Appraisals.
Research and complete work histories as necessary.
Accurately process data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) iSeries; review and process personnel action forms and all other hiring/termination forms; enter personnel data into electronic and manual filing systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, polices and procedures.
Knowledge of applicable borough, state and federal statutes, rules, codes and regulations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, other borough employees, and other representatives from other local, state, and federal agencies.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of human resources, files, reports, and employee information.
Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of common software.
Skill in working with members of the public.
Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required High school graduate or G.
E.
D.
/ or, a combination of 12 years education and related work experience; Three years clerical work experience; Three years work experience with a PC utilizing common software applications; Two years work experience as a Human Resources Specialist II; Two years work experience using JD Edwards software; Ability to obtain Collection Personnel Training Certificate and the Breath Alcohol Technician Certification within the six month probationary period; Ability to obtain an Alaska Driver's License within the six month probationary period that meets North Slope Borough insurance criteria.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
